1977 United Kingdom, set of 12. This is a unique, and rare, set from the U.K. (and possibly also printed in Argentina).
This set is usually referred to as the "Fascal" set, as that is what is printed on the sticker backings. A checklist
of the 12 stickers is as follows (the stickers are not numbered): The Force (words only), Imperial Troops (picture of
stormtrooper), Star Wars (words only), Darth Vader (picture of Vader), See Threepio (picture of C-3PO), Artoo-Detoo
(picture of R2-D2), Chewbacca (picture of Chewy), Millenium Falcon (picture of the ship), Han Solo (picture of Han Solo),
Obi-Wan Kenobi (picture of Obi-Wan), Luke Skywalker (picture of Luke), Princess Leia (picture of Princess Leia). These
stickers came in a 12-pocket holder that looks very similar to the holder that the large size Japanese "Yamakatsu" packs
came in. The holder would have had 12 complete sets in it when it was new, with 10 of each sticker in each pocket. Thanks
to David Polis for that information, and for letting me view a pic of the holder in his collection. The scans are all 12
stickers and then some variations. If you look closely, you can see a variation in the backround of the letters on the two
versions of the "Princess Leia" sticker. I have found three separate versions of the backings too, including "Fascal"
in black, "Fascal" in red, and blank backs.
